I’m TJ, the person behind DojoSites Lancashire. I’m based in Mellor Brook, just outside Blackburn, so this is my home patch. I trained for 12 years before I started building websites for gyms, so I know how much the first session matters.
I build websites for combat sports gyms and local fitness spaces that need more trial bookings without sounding like a London agency.

Blackburn is full of decent local clubs. Some are tucked away on industrial estates. Some run out of community spaces. Some have strong word of mouth but a website that has not kept up.
That is usually where trial bookings leak out. A nervous beginner searches for BJJ, boxing, kickboxing or kids’ karate near Blackburn. They land on your site. They want to know what class to try, what to wear, whether they need to book and whether they will feel out of place. If your site does not answer that quickly, they disappear.

I work with WordPress, Shopify and Wix websites. That might mean a new build, a rebuild of what you have now or a proper tidy-up so the site finally makes sense. For gyms and clubs, I usually look at:
- A homepage that explains who the gym is for in plain English
- Trial enquiry forms with three useful fields, not nine
- Timetables that are easy to read on a phone
- Beginner pages that explain what happens on day one
- Kids’ class pages written for parents, not coaches
- Local SEO so people can find you in Blackburn searches
- FAQs that answer the questions people are nervous to ask

Close enough to actually turn up
